Dashboard

You may access the dashboard of an estimation either:

  • From the estimation list of organizations, click on the name of the estimation.
  • A click on the  icon will direct you to the dashboard of the current estimation.

The dashboard executes the estimation process that is configured in the estimation plan. Thanks to the dashboard, the user can execute calculations and get the results in widgets.

The dashboard is divided in 5 parts:

  1. PBS-Projects.
  2. Estimation plan: it can be edited by clicking on the Edit estimation plan.
  3. Estimation execution: displays the input and output data of the selected module.
  4. Global view: displays all the results of the estimation plan modules in configurable widgets. The global view can be displayed or hidden with a click on the Hide overview/Show overview button on the top right corner of the estimation plan window.
  5. Module windows or views: each module has its own its own window in which the results are displayed in configurable widgets. The views may be displayed or hidden thanks to the “eye”  icon located in each module box. The color of the views may be customized thanks to the  icon located on the top right corner of the view.

How to add new widgets:

You can add and edit widgets thanks to those  icons located in the top right corner of each view.

There are three types of widgets:

Result widgets

The result widgets display the results of the execution of the modules.

There are three types of result widgets:

  • Text: displays the results of a widget as a text.
  • Table: displays the results as a table.
  • Graphic: displays the results as a graph.

A result widget is characterized by the following fields:

  • Name: name of the widget,
  • Option to display the name in the widget,
  • Module: module of the estimation from which we want to display the results,
  • Associated attribute: attribute of the selected module including the value of the result to be displayed,
  • Widget type: the types depend on the type of the module and on the selected attributes,
  • Associated color: color of the widget,
  • Costumed field: selecting a costumed field, the value of the widget will be displayed in the estimation list table of the organization. Those widgets are labeled with an asterisk,
  • Icon: symbol to display in the top left corner of the widget,
  • Option to display the minimum and maximum values of the module,
  • Option to display the selected “Ratio”, only with an activity module,
  • Option to use the effort unit of the organization: to display the result in the widget with the effort unit of the organization such as man/hour, man/day, man/month instead of the effort unit of the module instance.

Once the fields are filled and saved, a new widget will appear in the corresponding view.

Text widget

The text widgets only display text written by the user. They display, for information, elements that the user think are necessary to understand the results.

A text widget is characterized by the following fields:

  • Name: name of the widget,
  • Option to display the name in the widget,
  • Associated color: color of the widget,
  • Icon: symbol to display in the top left corner of the widget,
  • Comment: text to be displayed in the widget.

Once the fields are filled and saved, a new widget will appear in the corresponding view.

A calculation widget is characterized by the following fields:

  • Name: name of the widget,
  • Option to display the name in the widget,
  • Variables: to configure the variables (A, B, C, …) based on the inputs and outputs of the modules,
